Bearing Steel

Bearing Steel

Bearing steel is special steel featuring high wear resistance and rolling fatigue strength. High-carbon chromium bearing steel, engineering steel and some types of stainless steel and heat resistant steel are used as materials of bearings and for other purposes.

Features of Bearing Steel

  1. High Hardness & Wear Resistance: Contains high carbon (0.95–1.10%) and chromium (1.3–1.6%) for extreme surface hardness (60–65 HRC) and resistance to abrasive wear in high-pressure environments.
  2. Exceptional Fatigue Strength: Optimized microstructure and alloy design (e.g., silicon, manganese) prevent crack initiation under cyclic loads, ensuring longevity in rotating applications.
  3. Controlled Purity & Uniformity: Ultra-low oxygen and sulfur content (<15 ppm) minimizes inclusions, while fine carbide distribution ensures consistent performance under stress.
